G2B Gastro Pub and Beerhouse

We had an amazing time at G2B GastroPub and Beerhouse.

When you first walk into G2B Gastro Pub, you feel a huge regal atmosphere. Sort of like the feeling you get the first few seconds after you step into a large cathedral. Except instead of God calling you to pray,  the bar seems to take on human vocal characteristics and calls you over immediately to order one of its North Carolina beers.   They feature a first class selection of  North Carolina Beers. It reminds me very much of being in one of those 5 star restaurants in NYC. Clean spacious, modern, and sophisticated. It’s definitely, one of Durham, North Carolina’s prizes, especially the jazz room.

The mood in the jazz room is warm and more intimate than the front room.  It reminds you of those jazz paintings that you see all the time. You know, those paintings of musicians playing instruments in a club somewhere.

Special thanks to all the audience members and  my girlfriends, from the Real Girlfriends of RDU , who were there. Also, special thanks to  the band who was amazing. Kenni Hairston on keys, Kyle Dupstadt on bass, and Carl McDaniel on guitar, and Eric Meyer on bass were brilliant and cohesive. I  am still  trying to figure out how I got to be so lucky. You would think we had been performing together for years amongst the jazz improvisation and vocals by Angela Shella. www.angelashella.com

Carrie Schleiffer, the Chef de Cuisine, is a true hero of the restaurant. She  and Chris made everything come together. Special thanks to her,  the manager Chris, and all his staff for making a great night.

I’ll be back for another lamb burger soon.

Angela.

Get Over it and Move On.

I was disgusted with myself today. I had a horrible eating moment. Nonstop bingeing is never good. But it’s done, Angela. Get over it and move on. Wallowing in failure or weakness is a total waste of time. That not only applies to dieting, but it also applies to your career, your aspirations, and your dreams. Self-pity is not a road to success. You can’t go back into the past. Stop crying over spilled milk. Get up and live. Fight for a better future. So Here I go. I’m on my way out for a run. The future is bright.

Self-discipline @angieandthecool Network

Lately, I find myself asking for help and relying a bit too much on other people. After all, we all need each other, don’t we? But This morning I tell myself: It all boils down to self-discipline. Decide what you need to do. Acknowledge temptation. Just decide that you will resist it. Write the temptation down on a piece of paper. Ball it up and throw it away or burn it. Decide that today, your life is your own. No apologies. No excuses. No one to blame. No one to rely on. Today it is just you and yourself. Say that you are strong. List the actions you need to take. Take them. Just do it. Then get up tomorrow and do it again.

The Next Thing @angieandthecool

You can not worry too much about your failures.  Just learn from them and move on to the next thing. Life is short. There is always another game to play. Another day to smile. Something new to learn. Another person to meet.

Greet the World with Enthusiasm @angieandthecool Network subscribe to youtube.com/coolnetworkmusic

Life can be beautiful. Some people just have that natural ability to pop out of bed and just smile to greet the world with 100% of their energy. Others have to struggle. That’s ok. Which ever type you are, find that thing that makes you pop out of the bed and greet the world with enthusiasm. “Hello world, I’m here!” Then help someone else feel inspired. Inspire someone. Don’t forget to pass it on.

Are you homeless?

What would you do if you were walking down the street and you saw a homeless person laying on the road. It turns out that this person looks like someone you know, perhaps from school. They look dirty. They stink. They literally disgust you but you can’t help but say something because you really think you know this person. This scenario is what motivated me to write “Good Guys.”

Staying Excited about what you do.

When people see that you are excited about what you do, they want to join you. They want to support you. It’s as if that energy you have rubs off on them. You are infectious when you are animated and excited about your craft, your job,  and your life. I hope you find your excitement if you have not done so already. Below is a track that makes me excited. Let me know what you think.
